Welsh folklore tells us that June is a month of midsummer magic marked by fire & festivity. The cuckoo changes her call in June, a shift said to foretell the year ahead. Warm and welcome? A good omen. Strange or harsh? Trouble may follow. Listen closely... #folkloresunday #Wales

Today is the feast day of St Dogmael (Dogfael), the 6th-century holy man who lends his name to the Pembrokeshire village of St Dogmaels where this statue of a mermaid stands. A character from local folklore, she watches over those in distress in the water #Wales #Folklore

Happy Friday the 13th! Here's a reminder that black cats are amazing and not unlucky. As Welsh folklore tells us: "It is very fortunate to have a thoroughly black cat on the premises." (Folklore of Wales, 1909) #FridayThe13th #FridayFeeling

Ahead of the Summer Solstice, I’ve been exploring one of my favourite mystical spots with Steve Balsamo & Lavender Sweep: Arthur’s Stone (Maen Ceti), Gower. A place of ghosts and folklore, Dylan Thomas once "summoned spirits" here - maybe a few remain! 🌞👻 #Wales #SummerSolstice
