When you read reports like this, think about who might have leaked it and why they wanted to frame something a certain way.

Ok, new theory: both these teams actually want to lose but have to make it look good. Neither one of them wants any piece of Indiana

Clark Kellogg just said “roster spending has no correlation to winning”, which is quite a take. A really bad take, but quite a take

I don't really get why watching Duke get blown out by Ole Miss would have been more enjoyable than watching Tulane get blown out by Ole Miss, but a lot of people seem to think that's what we needed

People complaining about teams that didn’t get in, or about G6 teams getting in: remember there are 8 more teams (6 of them P4) in the playoffs this year than two years ago. Access has never been greater!

I don’t think if my job was covering a sport I would admit publicly that I don’t understand why people care about it so deeply.

The FBS playoffs should do what the FCS does: An actual 24 team playoff. 10 Conference Champs (autobids) + 14 at-large bids. Top 8 teams get 1st rd byes. 1st round is 9v24, 10v23, 11v22 etc. Higher seeds host all games through the semis. Champ. game is played at neutral site.

When did we decide that FBS playoff should equal “only teams that ‘we’ think can win a championship”? That isn’t the criteria in any other sport I can think of. Like, do you really think every NFL playoff team can win it all? I don’t. Nor MLB or NBA or whatever.

When people start with “if we’re being honest”, they’re about to say their opinion that is, at best, debatable.

I want to make one of those “there’s no way a WNBA player could beat me at 1-on-1 videos,” not because there’s the slightest truth to that, but just so that I could play against a WNBA player.

When people say things like this, it always sounds like “the taller you are, the better you’ll be at basketball.” There’s something there, but it’s just one piece of a much bigger picture. IQ scores tell you, in a limited and flawed way, one thing about a person. Nothing more
