Thank you Michael Farrugia for your thoroughness. We’ll all wait another 60 years for you to express your disgust at the Steward scandal. lovinmalta.com/news/not-just-…

The clowns at Television Malta don’t feel that the anger displayed by Sofia’s family towards govt MPs is newsworthy. It’s only the ‘emotions’ of Love Island that are of national interest.

This country is beyond redemption. One has to ask: why is it so important to block an inquiry? How much do they have to hide that they’d rather cause so much pain to a family seeking justice? Who are they protecting?

Reuben Balzan (@reubenbalzan) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Sure. Why not? But we still wouldn’t have had a public inquiry which would have investigated whether there were any shortcomings by the state or public authorities. It’s not in govt’s interest that govt is investigated ONLY if govt knows that it would be blamed.

Blaming Courts for the U-turn is irresponsible and a new low. The public inquiry will not establish criminal responsibility and will likely take longer than the Magisterial inquiry. Every self-respecting MP who voted against the motion will feel humiliated by this development.

The irony of a sun-tanned PM apologising for not showing solidarity with the victim’s family only after the ex-PM, President Emeritus, NGOs, media, influencers and practically most of the country has criticised him….. but hey, it’s all the fault of our Courts.

I used to think traffic problems in Malta are mainly the result of incompetence. Now I’m convinced that they’re by design. Nobody can be so incompetent or stupid.

In the meantime, Maltese government denies its transport planners are idiots in disguise. timesofmalta.com/articles/view/…

And just to prove the point .. we have heavy traffic from Paceville towards Coast Road thanks to the roadblock by officials. I hope it was worth the aggravation and anger they generated.

A 20 yr old tourist causes €400 damage to Castille steps, is arraigned, repays damage and is fined €2000. But nothing happens to an MP running a benefit fraud scheme robbing millions from taxpayers notwithstanding Castille knew 2 yrs ago. Priorities. timesofmalta.com/articles/view/…

The problem with this country is lack of accountability. Who is going to be held accountable for this? Are we going to appoint another retired judge to conduct an inquiry which will conclude the obvious? Is the govt and country completely bereft of leaders who can change things?

Another blatant example of institutional and ultimately state failure. People need to realise that state failure has consequences: Daphne’s murder. Benefits stolen from those who needs them. Incompetent drivers killing people. Victims let down because perpetrators not prosecuted.

If the activists didn’t want to get arrested they should have committed a harsher crime. Corruption perhaps? You never get arrested for that.
