As the RNLI have announced that their lifeguard service is going to be rolled out above the initial 30% of beaches originally stated, the #RETURNTOSHORE campaign has played its part in changing the mindset of the charity. 1/4 #Thread

Large-period swell, offshore winds, sunny weather and large tides forecast for Cornwall for extended period. Significant gaps in lifeguard provision across the county as RNLI lifeguards are yet to RETURN TO SHORE on many dangerous, west facing beaches. Please take care.

We wanted to thank surfing and surfing lifesaving communities, who selflessness ensured the safety of beach goers during the heatwave of spring 2020 and raise funds for the volunteer beach patrols equipment. So we have made a film and set up fund raiser. carvemag.com/2020/07/thank-…

The community funded first-aid kit at the remote beach of Gwenver, West Cornwall now has a AED. My friend Bert Wright has done a fantastic job in seeing his idea become a reality. The kit has already proved its worth in a serious incident a few weeks ago. RETURN TO SHORE
