#Trees4cbp Tree Health session kicks off with Rebecca Gosling from the @woodlandtrust discussing tree pests & pathogens and the role of citizen science can play in monitoring these 🌳🪲

Great to be out on the chalk grasslands for Restoring Resilient Ecosystems this time of the year!

New blog! This month, Emily Waddell and @EcologyBarnett fill us in on the recent British Ecological Society & @WoodlandTrust conference: Trees for Climate, Biodiversity and People 🌳🌲🌳 restreco.com/blog/ #Trees4CBP University of Kent

New blog! For July's post Melanie Shears tells us about the fieldwork our UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology teams have been doing on grasslands this summer... 🐝🌼🌾restreco.com/blog/

🌳Spatially targeting #woodland creation adjacent to ancient woodlands reduces 'colonisation credit' faster but not it in a meaningful time frame – #biodiversity targets must account for appropriate time lags Find out more: besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10… Samuel Hughes @watts_km

Foresters have used natural colonisation & regeneration for many years. With rapid climate change we need to ensure our forests are adapted & resilient. This Forest Research work ⬇️ helps us better understand when & where we can combine planting with colonisation on agri sites

NEW BLOG! For this month's blog, newest member of the team, Sam Hibdige Cranfield University talks us through the lab processing of our soil samples, and what we hope to learn from the genetic diversity of microbes! 🦠🔬🧬 Read it here: restreco.com/blog/

New Blog! For October's post, Dr Will Rust tells us about his work using remote sensing to measure ecosystem resilience... 🌳🛰️🌲 restreco.com/blog/

New blog! In this month's blog Maico Weites gives an update on the work of the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology grassland team and what interesting inverts they are finding in their samples. 🕷🪲🪰 restreco.com/blog/

Some of the 1333 spiders I have identified for Restoring Resilient Ecosystems over the last two days: Mermessus trilobatus, Drassyllus pusillus, Ozyptila sanctuaria, and Clubiona reclusa.

‘Setting goals for dynamic nature: paradox or solution’ - Emily Waddell gives an overview & insights from the Restoring Resilient Ecosystems project 🌻🌳🦋🕷🪲#NaturMaal
