We received a response today from the NHS. They confirm that they will be updating their NHS website on #RLS to reflect the recent changes to NICE. Dopamine agonists ( #Ropinirole, #Pramipexole & #Rotigotine) will no longer be 1st line meds.

The changes to #NHS & #NICE on #RLS will hopefully lead to #Opioids like #methadone & #Buprenorphine being approved for treatment & further research into NEW medications. #DopamineAgonists have caused far too much suffering for the vast majority of patients.

Sadly, we are still hearing reports from our members that some UK GPs & neurologists are refusing to prescribe gabapentinoids in accordance with new #NICE cks guidance. These doctors prescribe #DopamineAgonists even though patients are #augmenting or showing signs of #ICD.
