Show some love to our lizard friends - It's World Lizard Day! 🦎 Savannah monitors are native to the grasslands and savannah of sub Saharan Africa. They are a highly intelligent species that uses their claws and strong limbs for climbing, digging burrows and even swimming.

#DYK that when snakes shed their skin a layer of fluid builds up between the skin layers to help facilitate the shed. Snakes have a scale over their eye called their "eye cap" that also sheds during this process👀 When the fluid builds up there the eyes go a milky blue colour!

Alligator snapping turtles use their modified tongue, or 'lingual lure', to lure unsuspecting prey into their trap. The prey thinks they are about to get a delicious worm, and just as they get close enough the turtle snaps their jaws shut and gets an easy meal.
