160,000+ people in my district rely on #SocialSecurity. It is a lifeline and one that we pay into for nearly our entire lives. I have four words for Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress who want to cut Social Security and give tax breaks to billionaires: Not on my watch!

NEW: The Biden-Harris Administration just announced new Medicare agreements to lower prices for 10 of the highest-cost prescription drugs! These savings were made possible by Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act and will make a BIG difference for thousands of Alabama seniors! 🙌🏾

Democrats have capped the price of insulin at $35 a month, limited out-of-pocket costs, and now slashed the costs of key medications for seniors. We’ve come a long way, but New Dems won’t stop fighting until every American can afford the care they need.

I just toured the new UAB Medical West Hospital and all I can say is WOW! This amazing, state-of-the-art facility was made possible by an outpouring of community support including $360 million that we helped secure from USDA. We’re so thrilled that it is part of our community!

Yesterday, Team Sewell celebrated a $2.3 million “Jobs Plus” grant for the Selma Housing Authority! We’re so excited that this funding will provide better access to job training, education, and employment opportunities for the residents of GWC and Felix Heights!

Yesterday, Team Sewell was thrilled to join the Alabama Mobility & Power Center for AMP Day! Their work on the electrification of transportation systems, economic research, and workforce development is a testament to the power of public and private partnerships!

I have been a strong advocate for the MIECHV Program which provides home visits and wrap-around services to some of our most vulnerable moms and babies. I'm thrilled that Alabama is getting $8.2 million from HRSA to continue these critical services!

Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, Alabama seniors will never pay more than $2,000 annually for their prescription drugs starting next year. We also empowered Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices and capped the cost of insulin at $35 per month.
