On good authority from a college coaching buddy of mine, Gwendlyn McGrew 2024 is down in Katy showing her tail… “Shooting the cover off the ball” “Like a 40-piece”. Our Texas U family knows too well how 🥶 this kid is…. Sorry some seemed to have forgot 😅 #TXUFam🖤🧡

The July Live Period is almost here and parents are taking out home equity loans to pay for travel expenses and weekend passes to watch their kid sit on the bench. This is what my Momma calls “hustling backwards”. Before you borrow, make sure your player is getting their Reps Up!

🚨Parents: What you don’t know about AAU is hurting your player: 1. Circuit teams practice 2-3 times/month. If your team practices 3-4 times/week. 1 of the trainings is skills training. 2. Team trainings have 20-30 kids, these 🗑️🚮 sessions are hurting your player’s development.

🚨Parents: What you don’t know about AAU is hurting your player. ❌Playing year round in winter, spring & fall leagues is good for the organization & bad for your player. When is your player going to add the necessary skills? ✅ More PURPOSEFULL skill development is the 🔑.

🚨Parents: What you don’t know about AAU is hurting your player. Most parents don’t know the diff between good and bad training. After waisting 1 to 3 years of their players ⏰ and 💰, they start asking questions, because it’s NOT working. Hint: 30 kids and 1 coach ain’t it.

🚨Parents: What you don’t know about AAU is hurting your player. Lot of Coaches/Trainers have “good” resumes (college/overseas) experience. Playing experience doesn’t make you a Teacher. Becoming a Teacher of the game makes you a Teacher. Trust but verify!

AAU is over & your player sat the bench. The Coach / Director is recommending a fall ball league. Either they don’t understand player development or they are making a recommendation they know will hurt your player. Fall ball won’t develop your player. Fall Ball is 🚫 Development.

🗣️ Parents: Don’t mistake activity for progress. In the big picture of your player’s individual growth,🥇place fishes in mediocre local tourneys mean absolutely nothing. Did your child grow as a player this season? 🤔

🗣️Parents: Basketball, rewards height and athleticism. The smaller the player, the more skill is needed to have success. 🔑’s for smaller players: High IQ, A+ handle, A+ playmaker, A+ passer, A+ finisher, A++ Shooter, and they MUST have that DOG🐺 on defense❗️
