Racism has no place in Texas. SB 17 is a racist bill that discriminates against the AAPI community. Our AAPI community members should not have to deal with such a hateful piece of legislation, especially during AAPI Heritage Month. I proudly stand in solidarity with

Christina Morales shares a story from a constituent whose trans daughter is demoralized that her home state trying to erase her. "All children want to be seen, and to be free... We all want to protect women... [but] let's not confuse protection with exclusion. #HB229 #txlege

I’ll never stop fighting for women’s equality under the law. HB 229 is bad public policy that makes women separate and unequal from men. "All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.” #txlege

Yesterday, Republicans refused to remove segregation-era language from Texas law. I filed an amendment to remove “separate is not inherently unequal" from HB 229, a phrase rooted in Plessy v. Ferguson and used to justify decades of discrimination. They voted it down.

#HB1106 is being heard in the #txlege. This bill would redefine abuse and neglect of children in a way that makes it harder for CPS to intervene when parents do not accept their trans, queer, or gay kids. Laws like this have let child abuse go unchecked in other states.

If Greyhound Bus were opening a station in your neighborhood, wouldn’t you like to know? My constituents in #MagnoliaPark didn’t have that luxury. I’m presenting a bill to give neighbors that advance notice. Nice work by Christina Morales passing this out of the House! Watch

Three years ago, 21 students and teachers were killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Instead of passing bills that protect our children, today we are voting on three dangerous, firearm-related bills, SB 1718, SB 1362, and SB 1596. #txlege
