Our peatlands restoration team recently visited Mayo to study hepatic mats, which must be protected when developing & implementing blanket bog restoration plans. These are unique bryophyte communities that, although prefer well-drained soils, can be found on blanket bogs too.

Facts: 1) Permafrost is thawing with recent warming, worsened by fires and human land use. 2) Thawing ground releases greenhouse gases typically more than it stimulates plant growth. 3) Thaw can interfere with infrastructure, hunting, travel, and military operations.

Excited to announce that the RePEAT exhibition will be coming to Lullymore Park in May. This will be the first leg in our summer roadshow as we bring the exhibition around the country.
