Statement from Stephen Ayres, who testified before J6 committee and was sentenced to probation today: "Like so many others, I hung on every word Donald Trump said and he took advantage of us. My family and I have suffered – first for my bad judgment and then for speaking out."

This DC heritage tree is being cut bc DC Water #NEBT contractors dug where they were explicitly NOT supposed to dig. Contractor had a plan w/DC arborist to save tree. #NEBT didn't follow it. Arborist inspected tree/root damage after the fact, & decided it had to come down.

.DC Water says this was an accident. But the Northeast Boundary Tunnel #NEBT site superintendent & engineer were both on site shortly before digging began. And i'm told the digging was supposed to be several houses down the street from the tree, according to plan agreed w/arborist

In #OathKeepers seditious conspiracy trial, DOJ says it wants to rest its case at end of next week but depends on how long defense cross lasts. Defense attorneys say 8-9 days combined to present their cases. DOJ says could put on a rebuttal case. So trial may run into mid-nov.

The Justice Department has taken a public stand against alleged war crimes in Ukraine. But it has been nearly silent on the question of possible war crimes in the Israel-Hamas conflict. npr.org/2024/04/04/124…

Less than 4 months into Ukraine war, AG Garland traveled to Ukraine, condemned alleged Russian atrocities & set up a special team to focus on RU war crimes. Nearly 6 months into #Gaza war, Garland has said just 29 words in public on the question of possible war crimes.
