I visited the Sierra Leone Peace Museum today. The wk of March 23rd is significant in our history. 34 yrs ago, an 11-yr civil war started in Sierra Leone. As we reflect on peace, we must keep working towards a more just society where everyone can reach their fullest potential

The Chief Minister Dr. David Sengeh visited the Peace Museum. The Chairman of the Monuments and Relics Commission, Joseph Ben Kaifala, joined Madam Binta Mansaray and her staff to receive him. March is the month of Memba34 - the 34th anniversary of the invasion of Bomaru.

Months ago a fire incident caused severe damage to the National Railway Museum. The owners of the nearby factory have been cooperative and repair works have started. Joseph Ben Kaifala, Chairman of the Monuments and Relics Commission, visited to look at what has been done so far.

March 23, 1991, a criminal attack on Bomaru in Kailahun district ignited an 11 year civil war in Sierra Leone. Today we remember those who died in that conflict and admonish Sierra Leoneans to firmly adhere to these words of their wartime president, Alhaji Ahmad Tejan Kabbah.
