I'd maybe focus on the opposites: Love sadness into joy, fear into faith, discord into unity. Making friends with people like us is easy and tribal. But we can learn to turn enemies into friends; by simply respecting the *humans* who exist underneath the views we disagree with.

Generally, we used to have faith in each other. But over the last 15 years, people increasingly distrust; the jobs we do; and the corporations or governments we gather to form. Now everyone's angry and blame-filled. Little's working well. Despite its faults, trust worked better.

You know the thing you THINK you're life is about? The thing that today's stuff is in the WAY of? Well that stuff in the way--that's your LIFE. We're not going 'anywhere.' So focus less on achievements, and more on how it feels to move from one experience to another.

It's not parents' fault. Them reacting to how, where and when *we* were, as well as what *we* did, means that--as they created the amazing people we are--an innocent but inevitable part of that process saw some trigger buttons installed. No one escapes that. We'll be okay.

Better in-person, but virtual can work too: give a compliment, assistance, an apology, an offer--whatever form it takes--be kind to someone else. To prevent your over-thinking, execute this kindness ASAP, or within the next 30 minutes at the latest. Now you have a deadline. ;-)

There are ways to hear criticism that helps us become better people. But even if the criticism is *unfounded* it is still an opportunity for us to learn the act of acceptance, by allowing some people to disagree with our ideas, just as we disagree with some of theirs.

We continue to meet amazing people throughout our lifetimes. As we find ourselves engaged less with some old friends, or they disengage from us in whatever manner, that is what provides the time-space for our new relationships, which generally better-suit who we have grown to be.

I'm not going to lie--sometimes caring for people near 100, with dementia, means some really disgusting duties. But it's like that with kids too. And like kids, people with dementia say some truly hilarious stuff pretty routinely. It's like one balances the other out.

People start school this week. Being ostracized is like being shunned by the tribe. Nothing hurts more. So don't allow casual cruelty. Don't create 'ins' by leaving others out. Offer outsiders tolerance as a rule. Because every lifetime will repeatedly see us being the outsider.
