Some of you may know that a Georgian, Meliton Kantaria was the one who put the Soviet flag over the Reichstag when we defeated Nazis. But did you know that Georgian Partisans in Italy were also part of the group that arrested Mussolini before he was killed?

Here is a photo of the Georgian partisans of the Northern Italy during WWII. Fought between July 1944-May 1945. They were escaped prisoners of war who joined the Italian partisans and fought valiantly against fascism.

I had no idea Gamal Abdel Nasser (جمال عبد الناصر) came to Soviet Georgia, to Tskaltubo, a sanatorium, to get treated for his illness in July-August of 1967! Here are some photos I found in the national library.
