@minna_alander One finnish reservist here. I don’t think that a single day passed in the compulsory military service (I served 362 days) without that our trainers reminded us that the enemy comes from east and why we are there in the middle of cold winter woods. That leaves a mark on memory.

@minna_alander I spent 6 weeks there decades ago. On night at a bar in early December the music changed to National Anthrm or Finlandia (can’t remember). Everyone stood and started singing. I was told it was Independence Day from Russia. Their hatred of Russia is real and very strong.
