Cancelling elections is deeply undemocratic. Councillors need to be accountable to their electorate & although unitary authorities are desirable a rushed solution without consultation & agreement risks a bodge job #LetSurreyVote

Elliott ReigateRabbit Very true - as far as I am aware Reigate and Banstead is the only council in Surrey with Financial reserves. They should not be used to pay of the debts of other councils in Surrey. We need our Theatre replaced and a proper Police Station, not sent elsewhere.

ReigateRabbit Has the SCC leader been grappling with how he grabs wealth in East Surrey to pay for losses elsewhere? Can we ask the opposite question? Can we have an election to determine who we want to grapple with this question other than the current incumbent?
