Journalist Ghiath Abu Ahmed, son of Darayya in Damascus who was displaced in Idlib, has passed away as a result of the collapse of his house in Sarmada due to the earthquake.

So many people in NW Syria and over the border in southern Turkey have endured & survived multiple traumas for years. Forced displacement. Bombing raids. Detention & torture. Disease. Poverty. Discrimination. Abandonment. It’s enough disasters for 100 lifetimes.

Immediate family and friends are safe in different parts of Syria but the scale of devastation is massive, many of them are now homeless in the harsh cold searching for neighbours and loved ones under the rubble. #syriaearthquake #PrayforSyria
