Today the Community Safety DA Team were presented with the ‘Champion of Champions’ award by Reducing The Risk, presented by Matthew Barber the TV Police and Crime Commissioner. Reducing the Risk celebrate 20 years since they started the champion’s model at their conference today!

Domestic abuse destroys lives. Support for victims is vital and earlier this week I was delighted to present awards to some of those providing that support. There are more than 4,000 Domestic Abuse Champions across Thames Valley supporting the work of Reducing The Risk. 🏆

I’m in sticker duty for Reducing The Risk today Oxford Pride! Oxford has the UK’s third largest ‘non straight’ community and the UK’s largest trans and non-binary population outside of London, but a disproportionate number of LGBTQ+ access domestic abuse support 💜

We’re at Oxford Pride today! If you have more than 3 friends, statistically one of them will be a victim of domestic abuse at some point. Come say hi and learn how to support them (and get a sticker!) 💜

Every trained #DAChampion is another step towards a safer and more informed community. Yesterday, a passionate group from Oxfordshire completed their training, gaining the skills to support, educate, and empower those impacted by #DomesticAbuse. 💡 Knowledge saves lives.
