I never believed in abolishing Holyrood. It just didn’t sit right and I felt it would be such a non starter as to be a waste of time discussing it. However having seen John Swinney and his student politics agenda I am now convinced it’s the only way for Scotland to move forward.

This is the amazing thing - people still talk about Scottish independence as though things would just be "a bit tight". It wouldn't - it would mean stripping out an entire fifth of government spending, even if economic activity wasn't hit, and even if capital flight didn't occur.
