🌪️ Question 1. Wicked is mainly from the perspective of Elphaba, The Wicked Witch of the West. Opposite of the original Wicked Witch of the West in L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz. How do you feel about getting a back story to her that explains her "Wickedness"? #Red5Reading

🌪️❔2: L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz was a children's fairytale. Wicked by Gregory Maguire is adult fiction. In the Prologue of #Wicked we are introduced to the Lion,the Scarecrow,the Tin Woodman & Dorothy. How did you feel seeing the characters in a different light?

Confession: years ago when I 1st read Wicked (after seeing the musical), I read the prologue & then took a long break. L. Frank Baum's beloved characters are different. Although Gregory Maguire does give wonderful nods to the original books. I've been curious how others felt.
