A brief pilgrimage today to see the newly installed blue plaque for Christina Broom at her once home in Fulham. Thanks to the efforts of Dr Margaret Denny who made the application several years ago and to which I eagerly gave my support.

🔵 Joseph Lister, whose original plaque disappeared, has been honoured with a new one at his former Fitzrovia home. Lister was a pioneer of antiseptic surgery and his work vastly improved the success rate in surgery in his own time, boosting public confidence in hospitals.

Olive Morris was a civil rights champion, who embodied the best of Brixton: a radical anti-racist & feminist housing activist who stood up for what she believed in. Today, I was honoured to attend the unveiling of a blue plaque on Railton Road commemorating Olive and her work.
