Calling all carers who haven't had a carer's assessment because they don't think they need one. Local councils need to know how many carers are on their patch to provide a case for accessing services. Pointed out to me during my assessment yesterday! carers.org/article/carers…

On Tuesday my dad had a break-in and thieves stole his most precious possession. His mum, who died when dad was a boy, had saved up for months to buy him an Austin Pathfinder pedal car. He has owned it for 70 years. Please RT in case it might help & someone might see it for sale.

I visited one of the hardest hit care homes in Peterborough. 7/18 residents died in two weeks. The only place I have visited that took every single precaution perfectly to no avail. They had no help & no guidance. They were distraught. It is appalling to blame them.

Really enjoying sharing mum’s conversational meanderings. Today she conjured up a type of wallpaper that is actually a very thin screen connected to the internet so you can change your decor to match your mood or the weather! #dementia #carehomes #inventionideas

In our latest blog David discusses his experiences of caring at home for his mum with dementia during lockdown. It is a reminder that many families still cannot access vital services and support that are so important for their well-being freedementiatraining.wordpress.com/2020/08/04/a-c…

Now we are In Tier 2 my mum’s care home has been told relatives can no longer visit using their completely safe visiting room which is accessed from the outside and has a floor to ceiling sealed Perspex screen. But we can still go and have our hair done and a coffee at Costa šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Great to see that mental health services are changing in Cornwall. Not sure why this is being advertised on Harrogate station though. šŸ¤”
