Whenever government officials pull out “stop hiding behind the First Amendment” or the Fifth Amendment or any other constitutional provision, you know you’re dealing with people who don’t care at all about the Rule of Law and should be immediately stripped of all power.

To all stranded at airports (and The FAA ✈️ employees): It doesn't have to be like this! There's no reason that air traffic control or airports need to be run by the govt. ATC should have 'corporatized' decades ago (like Canada's). reason has been on this issue for decades!

Neo-Brandeisianism is similarly mythologized as an intellectual movement, when it’s largely the illusion of substance in service of political goals. To sum up, Lina Khan’s talent lies in politics.

When do you ever see a spread like this about a human driver running over a cat? You don’t, and yet it happens 15,000 TIMES EVERY DAY. YES. FIFTEEN THOUSAND CATS ARE RUN OVER EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Outdated building codes, like requiring two staircases in mid-rise apartments, even though modern safety systems make that unnecessary, cause wasted space, higher costs, and fewer homes. Updating rules like this could unlock safer, more affordable housing. buff.ly/Es4Z0Fh

And if economists haven’t done enough to communicate the insanity of rent control, don’t blame Jen. She made a short documentary on the topic youtu.be/vF6N8Nxxdyw?si…

Good read. Opposing rent control isn't merely "pro-landlord," it's pro-science and pro-affordability. Academic economists don't like rent control b/c it backfires on renters in the long run, as we see in NYC after 100+ years of rent control exacerbating affordability problems.

We built this home in 45 days, faster than LADWP took to connect power. If a utility delays service beyond a month, it should pay the carrying cost of the building it’s holding hostage. The only reason they get away with it is monopoly.

What’s often missing in AI debates is a simple baseline: the recognition that Americans have a fundamental right to use computers — to access and apply computational power — without government permission or arbitrary limits. Columbus Dispatch Taylor B.

So you’re telling me that “luxury” apartments are driving down the costs of naturally affordable apartments because there are less folks competing for a small pool of housing stock!? Luxury housing is good for affordability!? EUREKA!!!!

Let's say you take out a $400,000 mortgage loan at 6.25% - and choose a 50-year mortgage instead of 30 yrs. In return for saving $283 monthly, you will pay an extra $421,302 in interest over the life of loan. Or if you sell at 15 yrs, will have paid off just $29,000 in equity.

Leave aside dismal standardized test scores. The fact that colleges have to provide remedial training for more than 10x as many kids as just a few years ago says it all. Some is COVID effects, but mostly just crappy schools.

Mileage-based user fees offer a smarter, fairer way to fund roads, but to succeed, states need to protect drivers’ privacy, offer choices, and deliver better roads and bridges with the money. buff.ly/Ho72E0R
