Police Officers and the goodwill of police officers make this service work. Officers should have had a fair pay rise in April. It's now October. We are being treated with contempt by the Government.

An often overlooked aspect of this problem is the ever increasing levels of sophistication demanded of police, as pay and conditions were eroded. Not only do we not have enough police, investigations that previously only took a few hours now take several weeks to deal with.
