One of my favourite ways to use #thinkingclassroom is learning phonemes. Ss write as many words as they can think of with a certain sound (here it is the long a) and then show which letters make the sound, then we consolidate by Ss explaining all the possible letter combos

Now that we know c and k - which one do we use? Today I got to share the rule with our 4- and 5-year-olds that I learned in my 40s! c goes before a, o, u k goes before the other two 🤯 Notes on the sound wall help when it’s time for writing!
