This is Peppard Road in 1930 - looking rather quiet! A car is parked outside one of the houses on the right, and to the left is one of the gateposts for Caversham Park House, then occupied by The Oratory School.

This is a lovely colourised postcard of the area around Christchurch Road, with the Whitley Pump off to the right. A replica pump is still there, but is now in the middle of the roundabout!

This is the IDR as you've never seen it before- part way through construction, c1984. This section was known as the ski jump, and is now part of the roundabout by the Oracle. The white building to the left was the Tanners Arms in Orchard Street.
