Kawatsuzumi dou Ashigaru Nanbokucho Period

The kawatsuzumi made for a flexible armor in terms of production and repair, however due to the armor relying on leather and in some cases thick leather it made the armor alot more ridgid in actual movement flexibility. You can see how stiff the kusazuri generally are.
