Great to support my constituency neighbour Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP at the Fivexmore_ AGM and Black Maternal Health lobby. Govt need to support organisations to help solve the disparities in maternal healthcare for black women. Well done Clo & Tinuke and all the other groups #fivemore

This is devastating. MBRRACE UK reports that 3x more women died by suicide than during the 2017-2019 period. The true impact of Covid, lockdown, poverty, financial crisis disproportionately on women with trauma histories

Such very sad news. Margaret was a true visionary. She was the inspiration for a generation of doctors to train in perinatal psychiatry. She was funny, irreverent and compassionate and we loved her.

Tackling health inequalities is a key priority for all our services and today we are providing all trusts in England with maternity and neonatal services the opportunity to apply for a set of clinical training aids to support care for women and babies with Black or dark skin.

Challenging but really important opening talk by Dr Andrew Cairns, presenting data from the #MBRRACE report. Maternal deaths by suicide are far too high, and we are reminded of the vulnerabilities of many in the perinatal period, and the need for timely effective care.
