Fantastic to have so many parliamentarians and healthcare professionals at the launch of the new APPG on Emergency Care (APPG on Emergency Care) our analysis that there were 16k+ excess deaths last year linked to long a&e waits shows the scale and urgency of the problem. And of course

A great day yesterday attending the APPG for emergency care UK Parliament hosted by Royal College of Emergency Medicine and Dr Rosena Allin-Khan on BSky: DrRosena.BSky.Social - Cross party approach to have one voice about the deeply concerning matters facing the EDs and excess deaths from long waits.

Last week, I was proud to launch the APPG on Emergency Care in Parliament. With over 16,600 lives lost last year due to long A&E waits, we must ensure emergency care is at the front of Government plans to improve our NHS. I am pleased to be working with Royal College of Emergency Medicine to demand change.

Malcolm McKenzie 𒊓𒅂𒁓𒐗𒐕𒐗 Steve the skeptic Neil Pettinger Adrian Boyle Nick Scriven Vicky Komrower/Price. now [email protected] i have a huge amount of respect for the integrity of the RCEM and the speciality of Emergency Medicine They have openly and repeatedly and consistently highlighted risks and harms to patients and openly challenged the limitations of the data and perverse incentives to "game"

We need a change in mindset from data hiding and data denial. It shouldn't matter how bad your performance is, but it must matter that people don't use their data to improve
