We loved being part of a beautiful Mass to celebrate the start of the academic year St George's Cathedral, Southwark. Thank you for our special candle Education Service - Southwark for the Jubilee Year 2025.

What a joyful service the Beginning of Year Mass St George's Cathedral, Southwark was today. With 130+ schools from the Diocese attending to witness Heads, Governors, Chaplains, Trust officers and other education leaders pledge their commitment to the young people in Archdiocese of Southwark schools.

‘Archbishop John inspired us with his homily; it was wonderful to join him on the altar and share how we will love like Jesus.’ Our Prayer and Praise leaders proudly represented our school at this special Mass today. Education Service - Southwark

Today we celebrated the Beginning of Year Mass and Commissioning at St George’s Cathedral. It was a wonderful opportunity for staff and students from across the Archdiocese of Southwark , to celebrate  together the beginning of a new academic year.

As Director of Academies, I have the privilege to work with the RCAOS CEOs. Today they received the Trust Pilgrims of Hope candles ready for the Jubilee. Kent Catholic Schools' Partnership SELCAT St Benedict Catholic Academy Trust Wishing them all well as they embark on a new year.

Ms Corcoran and Chaplaincy team students attended the 'Beginning of the Year Mass' with Education Service - Southwark, Archbishop John gave an inspiring homily with support from many of the students! It was also a fantastic opportunity for students from St Benedict Catholic Academy Trust to get together.

Brilliant to meet up with students and headteachers from fellow St Benedict Catholic Academy Trust schools at the Diocesan beginning of the year Mass yesterday!

Some of our wonderful pupils met Archbishop John at the beautiful Beginning of the Year Mass yesterday. We were joined by all of the schools in the Southwark Diocese Archdiocese of Southwark St Peter Chanel SELCAT

Our Heads & Deputies had a wonderful morning on Thursday at the Beginning of Year Mass Education Service - Southwark with His Grace, Archbishop John, at St George's Cathedral, Southwark. It was a beautiful celebration & His Grace inspired our children to always know, see & follow Jesus & love as Jesus loves us.

Conversation of the Spirit. Secondary heads met with staff from the Education Service to move leadership of our schools forward in strength and openness. Thank you Canon Victor for chairing.

Erynn, Amaryah, Finley, James, & Sydney, attended the Diocesan Opening Year Mass, celebrated by Archbishop John Wilson, at St George's Cathedral Southwark. They received our Diocesan Pilgrim Candle to mark the Jubilee. Year of pilgrimage - marking us all as 'Pilgrims as Hope.'

Archbishop John said Mary ‘points us to look at the mysteries of her Son, our Saviour. She draws us into His life, more deeply, as the beads move through our fingers’. October is the month the Rosary, so pray with Mary and let her show you the way to Christ.
