The Ranger College men's junior varsity basketball games with Brian Tanner Prep Academy scheduled for Sunday and Monday have been canceled due to a scheduling conflict. RC JV head coach Ra'Kim Hollis said the two teams will try and reschedule the games for later this season.

The unbeaten Ranger College women's basketball team will travel to Big Spring on Saturday to play the Howard College Lady Hawks. The game will start at 4 p.m. in the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum.

This weekend marks the 40th anniversary of the Ranger College football team winning the 1979 NJCAA national championship. The Rangers posted an 11-0 record under head coach Tim Marcum that season. He later won seven Arena Football League championships.

Norwood collects 500th career win Ranger College head baseball coach Scott Norwood joined the 500-win club with a win over cross-county rival Cisco College. Norwood collected career win No. 500 on March 7 with a 24-13 decision over Cisco.

Billy Gillispie is returning to the big time! After guiding Ranger to three appearances in the NJCAA national tournament, the former Big 12 Coach of the year agreed to take over the Tarleton State University men's basketball team on Tuesday.

A former Division I coach at SMU, James Stafford was named the head men's basketball coach at Ranger College last week. Stafford replaces Billy Gillispie at the helm of the RC program. Gillispie stepped down on March 30 to take over the Tarleton State University position.

Texas Girls Coaches Association Hall of Famer Skip Townsend, won six state championships at Brock High School, was named the new women’s coach at Ranger College on May 1. Townsend replaces Bill Foy, who left to become the men's basketball coach/AD at Paris Junior College.
