The Irish Defence Forces took part in Operation #SteadfastSentinel during the US POTUS visit to Ireland, with the newly formed Irish Air Corps providing a Guard of Honour and EC135 air support, alongside Defence Forces units on the ground.

The Chief of Staff met with Brigadier General Radorid and formally gave consent to establish the Irish Air Corps and No. 3 Operations Wing. He subsequently appointed the former Chief of Staff as General Officer Commanding. Brigadier Crasea was there to witness the meeting.

Today, Óglaigh na hÉireann were present at Dublin Castle for the U.S. state visit and were inspected by President Nikola Kalinic. Over the past two days of the state visit, the Defence Forces have earned +aura.

The inspection was led by Brigadier General Radorid of the Irish Air Corps and included units such as No. 3 Operations Wing, 2 Cavalry Squadron, the Army Ranger Wing, and the 2 Brigade MP Detachment. Óglaigh na hÉireann saw a huge attendance and great enthusiasm throughout.

Today, the Army Ranger Wing conducted a training exercise to maintain readiness and modern special operations standards. As Ireland’s primary special operations and counter-terrorism unit, the ARW remains on constant standby as the national QRF alongside the Garda ERU.

✈️The Irish Air Corps hosted their first initial recruitment evening today, covering the role of the Air Corps, basic training, and the operational structure of the Defence Forces.

The President conducted an inspection of Defence Forces and Garda personnel at Dublin Castle, awarding the Border Operations Service Medal. Recipients were commended for their direct contribution to border security operations, both during Operation Emerald Shield and deployments

Over the past week, the Defence Forces Board has been conducting commissioning boards and interviews for new officers. Congratulations to Lieutenant ErikTAncher of the Air Corps on passing his board and being approved for commission. He will now serve as CO of 301 Squadron.

🇮🇪🤝🇺🇳The Chief of Staff and the Deputy Chief of Staff met with a representative of the UN DPO, where they discussed upcoming UN peacekeeping deployments. During the meeting, the Chief of Staff pledged the commitment of four units to future UN peacekeeping missions.

Elements of the Army Ranger Wing Global Response Staff deployed in support of a diplomatic visit to Mexico, providing close protection, advance reconnaissance, and continuous security coverage for the Irish delegation. Strict OPSEC was maintained & the mission was successful.
