It's official! Our own Rui Gao, PhD (he/his) Rui Gao is officially a PhD Candidate. His work on vineyards biomass, ET partition and stress will be completed soon. Here a couple of pics of him participating in #UAV flights in the #TREX, #GRAPEX and #TURFEX projects.

Our team member Katherine Osorio-Diaz is participating in this exciting learning expedition in California!

Our team member Anderson Safre has recently published about the #SAFER ET model (which do not need a thermal band). He applied the model on the Agricultural Research Service #GRAPEX project data for daily and seasonal water consumption. Check it out: rdcu.be/cT0dP

An excellent project from our great colleague Lia Ramos Fernandez and her research team on rice water and methane management in Peru. Her videos are a great documentary of her efforts. Check it out!

Excited to give a scientific talk in my native tongue to Sino-Ecologists Association Overseas (Sino-Eco). It is embarrassing that I am not fluent in my native language anymore :) youtube.com/watch?v=f1ftkm…

Today the team joined the Utah Water Research Laboratory Xmas party and said farewell to Oliver Hargreaves. We wish you the best, Oliver!

As part of the Agricultural Research Service #GRAPEX project, our Rui Gao, PhD (he/his) completed a study #ET_Partition with Hidden Ninja SOL #TSEB model using AggieAir #UAV data across California Central Valley Vineyards mdpi.com/2098522 #mdpiremotesensing a través de Remote Sensing MDPI @DiviningWater

Our Rui Gao, PhD (he/his) successfully passed his PhD thesis defense! His work was related to evapotranspiration, transpiration and water stress in commercial vineyards using AggieAir UAV information along with physical and machine learning models. A lot of interesting things I have learned from this journey. Also, we have several interesting published things. I love them. It seems that I need to be more sophisticated in this area and try something fun🤞 Thanks to Utah State University @theagricolateam Utah Water Research Laboratory @DiviningWater🙏

Very excited to share our new study NatureClimate showing land surface processes are the dominant driver of global runoff increase in a CO2-warmed world.nature.com/articles/s4155…

How useful is it to combine thermal, multispectral and 3D images taken with UAVs to monitor water stress in vineyards? The answer in our last paper by Vicente Burchard-Levine et al. rdcu.be/dRM0K DATI_2021 PRIMA Program Mediterranean Partnership 🇪🇺 ICA_CSIC INIA-CSIC iMIDRA
