Today marks the 80th Anniversary of #VEDay - as part of Eric Ravilious‘ legacy are his depictions of that conflict, which rank among the most important war art of the century. But he never lived to see the peace, being killed in 1942, leaving his wife Tirzah a widow. #VEDay80

I like to rough out how it will look once I’ve transferred the outline sketch. This will be a one-colour #linocut print which I‘ll print in oil-based inks and hand colour once the ink is dry. #Printmaking #BlueTitBird #britishbirds #birdlovers #ukbirdwatching #gardenbirds

Must have missed the memo but sad to visit Towner Eastbourne today and discover not a single Ravilious is on display until a new gallery opens in September. The only thing are these small modern prints by the toilets!

Is there a corner of your home where you go to read, write, create or just lose yourself in thought? The Attic Bedroom by Eric Ravilious, feels like just such a place. We love the plants arranged around the bed, making this such an intimate image. See it in our 40th Anniversary
