I always find it funny when I'm arguing with ignoramuses on Twitter about the justification for dropping the atomic bombs to end WWII in between the tours I guide at the National Museum of WWII Aviation. A tad ironic. Also, here's a pretty shot of Pike's Peak from our hangar.

Perhaps the thing I despise most about the atomic bomb revisionists is their cavalier attitude towards the Soviets. They argue that Japan would've surrendered once the USSR got involved in an invasion of Japan proper. Maybe they would have. But if you think that outcome would be

This is a terrible idea. We need more shipbuilding, not less. And we need it now. China has a bigger navy than ours, it operates in the open Pacific, & it is growing all the time with purpose-built warships intended to counter us. We must meet the threat, not cower in its face.

They put her on a plane because thats the fastest & most cost-effective way to get her ass back to Sweden. If she didn't want that, she shouldn't have tried to break a legal blockade. 🤷‍♂️

So he has conceded to China on the stuff the China hawks were most concerned about (rare earths and foreign students) in exchange for even higher tariffs on Americans who buy toys, clothes, and other stuff that has nothing to do with national security. How is this a win?

It's even worse than that (apologies, Abe Greenwald). The Chinese, and probably everyone else, now has reason to believe our strategic export controls are on the table. Because they apparently are. nationalreview.com/corner/are-we-…

Over the past two months, violent antisemitism has been on the march. Radical leftists have either tried to or had success in murdering Jews in Pennsylvania, Colorado, & Washington DC. The Intifada has been globalized. What are we going to do about it? My latest (link follows):

What an immense loss. Brian Wilson was easily one of the best popular musicians of the last century. He was a truly special talent. I grew up on the Beach Boys, so this is a sad day for me. At least I know what I'll be listening to all day. RIP to one of the GOATs.

If the South won the war, they were going to *import* more people, not *deport* them. And they had plans to annex over half of Mexico. Please, can we get a moratorium on politicians attempting historical analogies? Hey, at least it isn't Nazism this time. Silver linings.

Counterpoint: What if it isn't? What if it's just radical violence for the sake of nihilistic fury? What if you're the bad guys?

Laughing at the folks who are still butthurt over the Civil War is the only correct action. Pity is undeserved, as is anger. I don't hate these people, I find them funny. It's like the Japanese dudes who held out on remote islands until the 60s, but way, way more absurd.
