Told my U12 boys at the beginning of the year that if we win a tournament, they can give me the infamous “R9 Cut” Today me and my receding hairline was told “Matt, if we win a tourney we don’t even need to give you the R9 cut, your hair already looks bad enough” 😭

Player development > plastic trophies. Youth coaching is about shaping people, the scoreboard will change over time even when you focus heavily on the “right” things at youth level. Stan is all over it in this clip.

Spring club season is all wrapped up! Between five teams & filling in at times, I ended up coaching 67 games between March 15 - June 8 🫩 ☕️ Working with 5v5, 7v7 & 9v9 teams all at the same time was an amazing experience - the Fall seasons can’t come soon enough 😎

U10 Boys with a great start to the season tonight, so much potential and room for growth with this group. Six goals and six different goal scorers was amazing to see! 😁

U9 Girls with a super start to the season 😄 9 different goalscorers and learned about “resetting possession”, going back and around. Had some really nice moments doing so and am incredibly proud of this group! Pumped for Sioux Falls tourney next weekend 😎
