Mr. Raphael Maganga @Raphael_maganga, CEO of TPSF, participated in the tourism investment conference organized in collaboration between the Office of the President - Planning and Investment, Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) , and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.

At the Tourism Investment Conference, Mr. Raphael Maganga, CEO of TPSF, highlighted key facts about the tourism sector:
1. Increase in foreign tourists to 1.8 million in 2023, a 24.3% rise from 2022
2. Rise in domestic tourism to 1.9 million
3. Generates $ 3.4 billion in 2023

The Permanent Secretary co-chaired the TWG on Tourism in the Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources maliasili na utalii and CEO of the Hotel Association of Tanzania Mr Kennedy Mollel.

Meanwhile, TNBC – TWG on Forestry was co-chaired by Ben Sullus – Chairman SHIVIMITA.

Through the USAID USAIDTanzania Tuhifadhi Maliasili, TPSF in partnership with the Tanzania National Business Council - TNBC Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) held the TNBC Technical Working Group on Forestry and Tourism to deliberate sustainable investment in the tourism and forestry sector.

The Permanent Secretary directed respective agencies and departments within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism to harmonize taxes/fees and regulatory requirements, and diversification of tourism and forestry products as well as promote private sector-led conservation.
