Thank you to the survey respondent who, when asked: "Which language(s) did you learn as a child and still understand today?" answered "Pig Latin"

There is a great PhD dissertation waiting to be written on the causes and effects of the mismatch between federal and provincial parties.

So British Jnl Poli Sci asks if you want your name revealed to the authors. Is that new? What happens if you check the box, does your name just get added to the review?

If you use the IDPG party ID measures, what do you do with independents? Some Qs refer to "my party" which is awkward. Not ask them? Pipe in independents anyway? Ask leaners/closer about parties? Thoughts @LilyMasonPhD Dr. Julie Wronski Alex Theodoridis @caitlinldavies?

Working with Canadian newspaper data and - by far - the most coverage ever of racism was in June 2020, related to the murder of George Floyd in the United States. Seems to me this says important things about how racism is covered in Canada, and about Canadian media in general.

🚨 This fall, I'll be teaching an online short course titled "Interpreting and Communicating Statistical Results with R". It's about using the estimates produced by complex statistical models to deliver clear and meaningful insights. 1/3 codehorizons.com/Seminars/inter…

Was trying out the Perplexity LLM. Asked it some questions about conjoint power calculations and it cited Robert Kubinec's post, which seems impressive.

Enjoying being in the UK, but googling CPSA doesn't get me the Canadian Political Science Association. Now the first result is "Clay Pigeon Shooting Association".

Where do people put robustness checks, alternative models, etc? I like a section near the end of the paper, as they’re often distracting or off main topic. But maybe readers think of a problem and miss how its dealt with at the end, or already made up their mind. Any advice?
