If you're on the right and are worried about Mamdani's state-planned-economy policies, wait til you hear about the guy who required a federal stake in US Steel to approve its merger, wants the U.S. to own part of TikTok, and recently ordered oil producers to "keep prices down."

VCs love talking about network effects, moats, preferred biz models, IP defensibility, being capital light etc. You should learn about these things and be ready to talk about them. But most of the time you win by ignoring them and doing whatever is best for your customers.

The real AI threat isn't cheating on tests or homework, it is AI's proven ability to hook young and old into short-form video drip lines that cause 3-12 hours/day to magically vanish

When a large employer pays so little that their full time employees qualify for Medicaid , (or any public assistance ) we the taxpayers are effectively subsidizing that big company. That’s wrong

Plus the network lists they publish online are often hard to find and navigate. They're also out-of-date. Good luck finding a psychiatrist through your health insurer. Although they are legally required to treat mental health the same as physical health, they don't want you to

One of the things I’m liking about AI as PM: when I feed it obviously bad ideas, it calls me out. For political and job security reasons, a lot of PMs won’t do that. Or will slow walk. My bad idea in this case: do 2 runs. 5k units with buttons on face, 5k with buttons on side.

Fun pod on elevators. A couple of things not in the pod: - When cooper union in NYC was being built, they put in a cylindrical shaft. Elevators hadn’t been really invented, but Cooper knew it was coming. (Otis was experimenting at the the time.) So he designed for the future.

Yes and no. It comes down to the morals and patriotism of the CEO and board. They can accept less profits , and ask shareholders to increase the P/E they will accept, because it's the right thing to do for the country. You would be shocked at how many CEOs actually think this
