🧠Limbic system🧠 I shared Broca's 1878 paper introducing the idea which really became popular with Paul MacLean (late 1940s). But this notion has simply not helped neuroscience, in fact is largely problematic. Many others have talked about this in the past, like Joseph E. LeDoux "The Four Realms of Existence"

In #OHBM2022 abstract submission, undergrad/BS students are apparently ineligible for travel award application. No ā€˜In training’ choice for them. They are absolutely in training! OHBM

Promoting #HCP in Iran. We just had this virtual workshop with Moataz Assem and two brilliant students of Sharif University (Arsalan Firoozi and Mojan Izadkhah). HCP News

Presenting a poster (Functional organization of face-responsive regions in lateral prefrontal cortex) in #ohbm2022 on Monday and Tuesday afternoon. My student, Mojan, received the OHBM travel award for this work, but she couldn’t get visa on time :( So I am presenting instead.

Our new paper in Cell Reports provides new insights into what the homologues of language areas in the right cerebral hemisphere are doing. With Arsalan Firoozi Hossein Rafipoor Nooshin Abbasi and John Duncan. Done in MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit doi.org/10.1016/j.celr…

My heroes in neuroscience: Roger Tootell, Robert Desimone, and John Duncan (my advisors in Harvard University, MIT, and University of Cambridge); Patrick Cavanagh, Nancy Kanwisher, and David Van Essen (not my direct advisors, but I interacted with them and learnt a lot from them)
