Nebraska completed. Had hoped to finish this before the end of 2024, but Omaha and Council Bluffs were very difficult to decipher - let me know if you spot any errors. RailMapOnline.com

A very, very close call!🚉 This image (which I found on FB) shows a Bristol Freighter car ferry aircraft, 'almost' reaching a railway line. Looking at the train, I'm thinking this incident might have occurred at Southend Airport. Any locals from that area recognise it!?

On March 1st Google will change their pricing structure. Not sure how this will affect RailMapOnline at present, but this might result in features being lost or maps being temporarily unavailable over the coming weeks. Please bear with me while I try and figure it out.

The term “Hacker” originated from a bunch of MIT students obsessed with model trains. In the late 1950s, the Tech Model Railroad Club was split into two primary factions: - Knife and Paintbrush - Signals and Power (S&P) S&P played fast and loose; disliking authority.

Apparently Coventry is building a tram line at less than a fifth of the per mile cost of the Edinburgh tram, and with a construction time of *eight weeks* rather than six years. The trick is the use of battery-powered trams and shallow prefabricated tracks. A potential

A great view of the timber yards at Victoria Dock sometime in the '60s or 70s. In the foreground is the pump house for the hydraulic operation of the lock gates (bottom corner left) between the River Hull and the dock itself. Hull Maritime Hull Libraries

More burst water main disruption at the junction of Prince's Ave and Spring Bank - what some of us still call 'Botanic Crossing'. Here it is pre-1964 which explains why; the railway line to Hornsea and Withernsea crossed the road here. Hull City Council Hull Museums Hull Libraries
