I miss the fellowship of Black beauty salons soooo much. Girls be having me in a solo room with no gossip, no advice…just a ring light & flower wall. Why are we here 😭😭

This. One of my friends always talks about how quiet my house is. The only “loudness” in my house is the sound of my children playing. We don’t do the yelling, cussing & screaming over here. Experienced enough of that growing up. My home HAS to be a place of peace. 🤎

Every year, my husband forces me to prove just how southern I am by asking for grits on Father’s Day. …and every year I’m calling my granny 5 minutes in. 🥴😂

I just wanna say, this can be an extremely traumatic and triggering topic for many people. Please be mindful of that and ask permission of the people in your life before launching into your unfiltered opinions about abortion. Folks are just trying to survive

“It’s time for the church to be the church.” This statement has infuriated me so much today. “The church” has been C L E A R on where it stands with LIVING children. And I can assure you things aren’t about to change now. So many words, but no action. I’m truly disgusted.

Did you know that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage? But wait, “miscarriage” isn’t a medical term. Your file will list it as a spontaneous abortion. How do I know? My file currently lists 3. People are so afraid of the term abortion when it’s a normal point of life.

Black women are THREE times as likely to die in childbirth than anyone else. Like, do y’all know what that means? What that feels like? We keep skipping over the data like it’s not there. Black women literally KEEP DYING in childbirth. Where’s the reform for that?
