My teacher diary arrived today and I especially love the pages that focus on professional learning aligned to each of the 7 standards. So beneficial and helpful to record all PL and what standard the learning applies to. It’s a great reflection tool also! #acuedu_p

I love zones of regulation and doing a ‘check in’ with students in the morning about what zone they’re in is very helpful to know what mood your students are in which can help guide students attitudes towards learning. I’ve seen it used effectively on casual days #acuedu_p

Lots of planning happening this week ready for Term 2 next week. I love ‘to do’ lists so it’s great that my diary has one for each week! These are my goals for the next 3 days before students return Wednesday 👩🏼‍🏫 #acuedu_p

Experienced my first staff development day today & it was very insightful looking into the new NESA maths & English curriculum as well as receiving a talk about Soundwaves. The program sounds amazing & I’m hoping to trial it in my year 1 class along with my school #acuedu_p

I absolutely love reading corners in classrooms. A really great and effective way for students to have quiet time to enjoy a book of their choosing #acuedu_p

Went on my first ever excursion with my year 1 students on Friday. They absolutely loved Symbio Wildlife Park & especially getting up close with the farm animals and kangaroos. It was a great day & very informative for both teachers and students 😊 #acuedu_p

This is so true! I always found school more enjoyable when I had a teacher who understood me & took time to build a relationship #acuedu_p

I’ve seen posters like this before in classrooms and I love them! It’s a good way to prevent students from interrupting rotation time #acuedu_p

Slowly adding to my Maths wall 🥰 year 1 were learning all about months and seasons last week & this display is to help students remember them as assessment results showed us that the students struggle with remembering the months and seasons #acuedu_p

Year 1 have been looking at the ‘ed’ suffix and this poster is a fabulous way to represent the sound/s that the ‘ed’ suffix can make in different words #acuedu_p

Absolutely love this! Waiting for my ‘power of yet’ posters to arrive so that I can add them to my classroom wall to motivate students #acuedu_p

This week I’ve made up some ‘challenge cards’ to hopefully help my early finishers to stay on task as that has been a big issue in my class this term. Hoping this will help manage behaviour for students who finish tasks early as well 🤞🏼 #acuedu_p

It was my second last day of uni today for my teaching degree. It’s all becoming very real now. 6 years in the making & I’m almost at the finish line. Very grateful that I made the decision to transfer from social work to teaching 3.5 years ago 🥺👩🏼‍🏫 #acuedu_p

As today was a teachers strike, I was given time to prepare & organise classroom work at school. This morning I decorated my room with students artworks. It’s definitely feeling like my own classroom now! Happy with how bright & colourful it’s becoming ☺️ #acuedu_p
