Further evidence of GOP's misogyny and sadism: They don't want girls to learn about their periods. Think about how traumatizing it would be to start bleeding out your vagina without knowing why. That's what Republicans want for girls. salon.com/2023/04/11/don…

And before you say "that's the parents' job," know this: Not everyone has a good parent who talks to them about this stuff. And even good parents aren't necessarily skilled at this. My mom tried, but still managed to scare me during the "period" talk salon.com/2023/04/11/don…

Very excited to see these DC Public Library events on menstrual education. I was proud to pass legislation to mandate that all schools and gov’t buildings (including libraries!) provide free period products to visitors. It’s past time that we take the stigma out of menstruation.

See you in D.C. tomorrow for the last Our Red Book reading! 2-4 pm at the DC Public Library Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Central Library. It's going to be beautiful! And presented alongside a community wellbeing fair. dclibrary.libnet.info/event/8234773

More soon, but a huge thank you to 53rd State Press's editor Kate Kremer, my comrade in arms 3 Hole Press's Rachel Kauder Nalebuff, & the TCG Books team. Indie shouldn't mean isolated, and as theatre and publishing communities we can work together to find sustainable futures for all of us.
