Today, in my meeting with President Antonio Costa António Costa, I reaffirmed Bulgaria’s strong commitment to achieving EU’s strategic goals - security, sustainable economic growth, innovation, and competitiveness.

With António Costa we visited Arsenal - military factory in Kazanlak to highlight Bulgaria's growing role in European defense. Our focus is on modernizing and expanding Bulgaria's defense industry to enhance strategic autonomy and contribute to EU security.

Innovation and EU's competitiveness were the main focus of my meeting with António Costa. We visited Trakia University’s Aquaponics Center - a large-scale project, that showcases sustainable, high-tech food production which ensures food safety.

I had the pleasure of presenting Bulgaria’s growing AI potential to António Costa Antonio Costa. At INSAIT Institute, we witnessed world-class research led by young scientists from 26 countries. Bulgaria is already a leader in AI innovation in Europe.

Congratulations to Friedrich Merz on being elected Federal Chancellor of Germany! I am confident that under your leadership, the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Germany will reach new heights. Let us work together for a stronger and united Europe.

Proud to strengthen Bulgaria’s strategic cooperation with Switzerland and to mark the 4th year of INSAIT Institute together with Guy Parmelin. INSAIT is already delivering tangible results. Together, we shape a more resilient and forward-looking Europe.

Bulgaria continuously supports Ukraine since the beginning of the war. We must all bring Ukraine in the strongest position to achieve a just and lasting peace. I stated this during a VTC of the heads of state and government of the ‚coalition of the willing‘ for 🇺🇦

Discussed with Mark Rutte Mark Rutte in Tirana about the need for joint efforts to end the war in Ukraine & support just & lasting peace. Ahead of the NATO Summit in The Hague, Bulgaria stands for a united, strategic and long-term approach of the Alliance.

Talked to @sandu_maya in Tirana to reaffirm Bulgaria’s support for Moldova’s European future. Bulgaria remains a committed partner on this path. The Bulgarian community in Moldova is a vital bridge between our peoples.

With Kaja Kallas we talked about fundamental 🇪🇺 support for 🇺🇦 at the key moment of negotiations with Russia. Bulgaria consistently supports all efforts for peace in Europe. We continue the dialogue to strengthen 🇪🇺 security and ensure the democratic rights of citizens.

I thanked Chancellor Christian Stocker for Austria’s support for Bulgaria’s Schengen accession and emphasized that we fully honor our commitments to secure EU’s external borders. I invited him to visit 🇧🇬

Talked to French president Emmanuel Macron about the need for a united European approach to ending the war in Ukraine, securing lasting peace, and deepening cooperation in defense and innovation. Peace requires resolve and unity - built on shared values and collective action.

At the #EPCSummit,I highlighted 🇧🇬‘s key role in the security of the EU. As a full Schengen member, we continue to streghten our border control capacity. BG guards one of the EU’s most sensitive external borders — and cooperation with neighbours like Turkey is delivering results

It was an honour to represent Bulgaria at the inauguration of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. The solemn liturgy at the Vatican marked the beginning of a new pontificate — a message of peace, unity and shared values. Looking forward to continued dialogue and cooperation with Pope Leo XIV

With PM Giorgia Meloni, we reaffirmed our excellent 🇧🇬🇮🇹 ties. We aim to deepen cooperation in infrastructure and defense industry. Stronger business partnerships and EU-level industrial cooperation are key.

It was an extraordinary honour for the Bulgarian delegation to be among the first official guests of His Holiness Pope Pope Leo XIV. His vision for peace, social equality and diplomatic engagement is a powerful message in today’s divided world.

Alongside Péter Szijjártó and Stavros Papastavrou I inspected the progress of the Vertical Gas Corridor. This strategic project strengthens energy security and independence in Central and Southeastern Europe. We’re building resilient, affordable, and reliable infrastructure.

At the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський, I will take part in the Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit. We will discuss key issues such as Black Sea security and Ukraine’s post-war recovery. 🇧🇬stands firmly for peace, stability, and regional cooperation.
