Today May 3. #OTD in 1977 mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani was born. She was the 1st woman and 1st Iranian to be awarded a Fields Medal. Recognized for “her outstanding contributions to the dynamics and geometry of Riemann surfaces and their moduli spaces.”Sadly, died at age 40.
