There are some new professions today that did not exist in 1980, such as software developers and network administrators. These tend to be high-paying jobs (median pay at $90,000). Today women are one-third of the nation's new professionals. pewrsr.ch/40nIBX6

54% of adults age 65 and older were married and living with a spouse in 2023, the highest share in Census data dating back to 1900. The increase is due to older women. Husbands are living longer. In 1990 50% of older women were widows. Today 29% are. pewrsr.ch/3Kd8vrT
