10 hours deep into Yocto recipe hell: cross-compiling C++ with CMake calling Ruby code generators. My brain hurts but it just compiled successfully.

I tried out the Github Copilot with Claude 3.5 since it's free now. The mode where it directly changes your code in the editor (Copilot Edits) is amazing. It put out this game with C and raylib. The code is good, compiled right away and it's a quite entertaining game.

Tip: VMWare Fusion for Macs is free for private use (vmware.com/products/deskt…) - you just have to get through the awkward Broadcom registration process and find the download link. Best VM on MacOS IMHO.

Hey KiCad PCB, I‘m trying to use the IPC API on KiCad9 RC1 for an eeschema plugin. KiCad is crashing every time on certain messages. Should I put in an issue or is it too soon as the API is still unstable?

#electronics tip: Get some rolls of silicone wire. The insulation can be removed with your fingernails and it won‘t shrink or burn during soldering.

TIL: You can just write LLVM intermediate representation and use the llvm interpreter to execute it directly. Surely beats assembler. Here's a little program that calculates the sum of two arguments:

Tried vibe coding with Claude 3.5 again today. Had a C++ library and wanted it to fix a bug on a C wrapper I created for it. I even had a C example on how to use it in the codebase… …it changed the example to C++ 🤔 I can’t believe that this works for anybody.
