Seeing waterhemp poking out of soybeans that are at beginning maturity can be frustrating. The best weed management programs begin before we get the planter out next spring. #startcleanstayclean

Two mechanisms confer Group 5 resistance in waterhemp-an altered target site and enhanced metabolism. Atrazine doe not control either biotype. Interestingly, metribuzin (1120 g/ha), applied PRE, controls the enhanced metabolism biotype (100%) and not the altered target site (7%).

Rootworm eggs love #snow! I look forward to seeing some snow; so do rootworm eggs. A thick snow cover insulates the soil, preventing the freeze-thaw cycles that happen under bare ground that can crush shallow #rootworm eggs. Snowy winters can precede greater rootworm pressure.

On this day, the 21st anniversary of 9/11, we honor and remember the lives lost that day, the first responders, the heroes, but also all of those who fought and sacrificed so that we may live in freedom. #NeverForget911
